A three-way intersection collision on Highway 97 this afternoon resulted in only one injury.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 97 and Mackenzie Avenue South in Williams Lake. Shortly after at 2:22 pm the Williams Lake RCMP, BC Ambulance and the Williams Lake Fire Department responded to the three-vehicle collision on the busy road.
Of the individuals involved, only one was sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
During the investigation, one lane of northbound traffic on 97 and Broadway Avenue was closed for a brief period of time. Police on the scene determined that one of the vehicles involved had attempted to cross 97 before being struck by a Northbound vehicle causing it to spin into the third vehicle.
“Neither road conditions nor alcohol were factors in this collision,” Cpl. Matthew Shearer said in a statement.
Two of the wrecked vehicles were taken away by a tow truck and highway was cleared by around 3 p.m.
