The Hope Fire Department extinguished a structure fire on the corner of Douglas Street and Fraser Avenue.

Firefighters were dispatched early Tuesday (April 6) just before 1 p.m. Fire chief Tom DeSorcy said a motorhome next to the house was on fire, which then spread into the roof of the house. Firefighters worked to keep the fire from spreading to neighbouring homes.

DeSorcy said the motorhome was completely destroyed and the home suffered extensive damage to the roof and main floor. One neighbouring home had minor damage, and a dog was reported missing.

Hope RCMP spokesperson Staff Sgt. Travis De Coene confirmed there are no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

B.C. Ambulance Service personnel were also on scene.
