Vernon Fire Rescue Services responded to a truck caught on fire early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on Highway 97 just before Bailey Road at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Deputy Chief Dwight Seymour said there were no injuries, and that the driver and passengers were already out of the blazing Ford F-350 upon the crew’s arrival.
“The crews were able to extinguish the fire very quickly with no extension to any wild-land areas,” Seymour said.
As far as damage, the truck is thought to be a total loss.
The cause of the fire isn’t known at this point, but the fire department is ruling out arson.
