Vernon police responded to a suspicious incident in the City of Vernon’s public works yard off 48th Avenue and Pleasant Valley Road Monday, May 11, but no threat was found.
“Given it was mid-day and that 48th Avenue is well-travelled, the police on scene drew the attention of many people passing by,” Vernon North Okanagan media officer Cpl. Tania Finn said about the heavy police presence noticed just before noon.
After learning of a possible incident unfolding at the public works yard at1900 48th Avenue, several officers arrived on scene and established a parameter within minutes.
“Police cleared the building and determined there was no threat on site.”
The incident didn’t result in any arrests, but the police gave their thanks to the public for their co-operation.
