Nominations are now open for the Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows accessibility and inclusiveness awards.
The Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows Municipal Advisory Committee on Accessibility and Inclusiveness will be recognizing leaders who are ‘difference makers’ within the community, supporting individuals with varying abilities inclusive of physical, emotional, cultural and financial circumstances.
The committee is seeking nominations from the public in the following categories:
• universal and architectural access (residential/commercial);
• leisure and recreation;
• customer service;
• volunteer;
• employment;
• educator;
• financial.
Nomination forms are available at Maple Ridge city hall, Maple Ridge library, Pitt Meadows Family Recreation Centre, Pitt Meadows city hall and Pitt Meadows library, or online at mapleridge.ca/130.
Completed applications can be dropped off at any of the above listed locations or faxed to 604-467-7393 or emailed to pfrederick@mapleridge.ca on or before May.
This year’s 15th annual awards event will be hosted on May 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Pitt Meadows Seniors Centre and is open to all members of the public.
