Vanderhoofians will still get to participate in the annual Wild Goose Chase Run, but it will be done within health guidelines of distancing and isolation, as a result of the current virus pandemic.
The run has been scheduled for Sunday, May 3 and is non-competitive. People can participate in a 3.5km, 5km and 8km race.
Zoe Dhillon, race director said that this year no registration is needed, there is no charge and no-judging.
“The idea was for everyone to train on their own and then run or walk the distance on Sunday, May 3 on their own, or with their families,” Dhillon said.
An event has been created on Facebook by Dhillon and is called the Isolated Wild Goose Chase Run. Currently over 60 people have said they are going and 57 have shown interest in the event.
The idea of this year’s run is for people to put a post on the event page on Facebook saying “I did it!”
“They can post a time, if they desire, or just the distance they ran and hopefully a picture,” Dhillon said.
People can run or walk the event at their own convenience on Sunday, as long as everyone keeps their social distance, she added.
