The Nelson Nordic Ski Club has been awarded $10,000 to study and design a new ski lodge.
The money was part of a B.C. Rural Dividend grants announcement made by the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development last month.
Nearly $700,000 in project development grants were handed out to local governments, First Nations and not-for-profit organizations.
The recipients also included
• The Kaslo Outdoor Recreation and Trails Society was awarded $10,000 to hire a trail co-ordinator
• The Village of Slocan was granted $10,000 to design a plan for improvements to the north end of Harold Street. That plan includes improvements to parking, sidewalks, landscaping, drainage and beautification.
• Silverton was awarded $10,000 to create a business plan for a co-work space with the Silverton General Store.
• The Healthy Community Society of the North Slocan Valley was granted $10,000 to hire an affordable housing expert.
