North District RCMP honour members, past and present, with special awards

Over 55 employees attended a National Police Week ceremony in Prince George

National Police Week was marked at the Prince George Playhouse as dozens of North District RCMP officers were presented with long-service medals, special awards and commendations.

Williams Lake RCMP Const. Elizabeth Karl was among 10 members that received a Commanding Officers Certificate of Appreciation and Retired Const. Rick Meaver was given a St. John Life-Saving Award.

Meaver was joined by 100 Mile House RCMP Const. Sebastian Lipsett and Staff Sgt. Svend Nelson who also received a St. John Life-Saving Award.

Over 55 employees attended the ceremony held Wednesday, May 15, including officers from 100 Mile House and Quesnel as well as Williams Lake.

From Quesnel, Const. Ryan Rentmeester, Sgt. Chris Riddle, Cpl. Ryan Grottolo, Sgt. Darren Dodge and Staff Sgt. Andrew Burton received Commanding Officers Commendation and Insignia.

100 Mile’s Const. Scott Anderson received a District Officers Certificate of Appreciation.
