Number of animal calls were up in comparison to previous weeks, whether they involved animals hit on the road or found injured along the roadway.

The RCMP advise drivers to pay extra attention and be weary of potential movement on the road, particularly during foggy days.

Remembrance Day

A heightened sense of security continued for this year’s Remembrance Day procession and ceremony, in light of the Parliament Hill incident in 2014, when a Canadian soldier on ceremonial sentry duty at the Canadian National War Memorial in Ottawa was fatally shot.

For public and police safety, an RCMP member performed overwatch as service groups in ceremonial uniform marched and participated in the annual commemorative event for Canadian armed forces who died in the line of duty.

As mandated nationally by the RCMP, any events in all communities across Canada where the police are participating and not surveying their own safety will be accompanied by on-duty officers.
