NT Fall Fair and Rodeo still a go

Dick and Carmen Ross, rodeo arena managers for the North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo, scheduled to run Sept. 3, 4, and 5 of this year, say the event is “still a go” and all facets of the rodeo are coming together nicely.

The recent outbreak of Neurotropic Equine Herpes Virus-1 (nEHV-1) traced back to a National Cutting Horse Association event in Ogden, Utah, April 30-May 8 did cause a number of events in several areas to cancel as precautionary measures.  However, organizers of the local NT Fall Fair and Rodeo say it will be business as usual when the event opens to the public on Labour Day weekend.

“At this point in time we are well into planning our 2011 event,” said the Ross’s, “However, we continue to stay informed, and as always will continue to practice due diligence in making sure that the welfare of our exhibitors and their livestock is foremost.”
