Oak Bay High is hosting an update session about the school’s replacement on Wednesday, June 13 at 7 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
“It’s intended to update everyone,” said principal Dave Thomson. “We have a couple of variance requests and as part of the process we want to make sure everyone is aware of what’s going on.”
Interested residents will be updated on construction timelines, field replacement, municipal involvement, the Neighbourhood Learning Centre and partnerships, at the meeting.
“We’re in the process now of getting RFQs (requests for quotations) ready,” Thomson said. They also have a construction calendar, or timeline for the project “roughed out,” he said.
Members of the Board of Education, Oak Bay council and Oak Bay Recreation will be in attendance, along with the project’s advocate architect to share information.
Thomson said they hope to get shovels in the ground in the first week of April next year.
