The Oak Bay News welcomes a new face to the roster as John Stewart joins the team as sales representative.
“I’m happy to be here. It’s a super-positive environment,” Stewart says. “The beauty of this job is you’re helping business getpeople in that door. That is what’s important to me, helping grow a business and providing more opportunity for localbusinesses to succeed.”
Stewart worked as an electrician for four years then shifted into sales at a small electronics business. He augmented his lifeexperience with business administration courses at the University of Victoria.
An avid golfer, Stewart’s first job was as a carrier with your community newspaper, and he returned to the Oak Bay NewsFriday.
He has a long history in the community, graduating from Oak Bay High.
“I love Oak Bay. I’ve always loved the sense of community here,” Stewart says. “I understand the community. I understand thestruggles small businesses go through competing with big box stores.”
