The District of Oak Bay wants you to have a say on the redevelopment of Carnarvon Park.

The 3.97-hectare sports park is located at Carnarvon Street and Henderson Road.

Oak Bay council awarded a contract to produce a master plan for the potential redesign and redevelopment of a portion of the park to Lees and Associates in July.

According to the district, the development of this master plan is meant to provide a long-range vision to serve the community for the next 20 to 30 years. The focus of the plan is the northwest section of the park, which includes the main building, Rotary Water Park, tennis courts and lacrosse box.

District staff say the main building, tennis courts and lacrosse box have reached their lifespans and are in need of refurbishment and redevelopment. Similarly, the water park is in need of repairs and potential refurbishment.

Two public open houses will be held at the Oak Bay Recreation Centre, on Nov. 3 and Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Consultants will be on hand to collect input and ideas on options for the improvement of the park.

The master plan is costing the district $42,743.
