Oak Bay town hall meeting set for Tuesday

Residents can sound off about whatever’s on their mind at a town hall meeting happening Tuesday (April 12), 7 p.m. at the Monterey Recreation Centre.

Topics of concern that spurred Mayor Christopher Causton to call for the meeting – after protesters gathered outside municipal hall last month – included the possible legalization of secondary suites and removing heritage designation from homes.

Causton is on leave running as a federal election candidate, but the rest of council and some municipal staff members will be on hand.

Such groups as the Community Association of Oak Bay and Friends of Oak Bay Neighbourhoods are encouraging residents to attend.

The recreation centre is at 1442 Monterey Ave. and has limited parking.
