Columbia Shuswap Regional District property owners in Electoral Area F North Shuswap and Area E Rural Sicamous will need to get a permit before they start building.
Building inspection will be a new service for Area E and an expansion of service in North Shuswap. Both go into effect Jan. 1, 2018.
Building inspection service has existed in the communities of Lee Creek, Scotch Creek, Celista, Magna Bay, Anglemont and St. Ives since 2001. It will be expanded to include all of Electoral Area F.
the number of building inspections will also increase from the current three. Building inspections will be completed by a CSRD building inspector six times during construction.
An open house on the expanded building inspection service will be held for Area F property owners from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, June 5 at the Scotch Creek Fire Hall,
3852 Squilax-Anglemont Hwy.
Electoral Area F director Larry Morgan and CSRD staff will be in attendance at the open house to provide information and answer questions.
On Wednesday, June 7, Area E director Rhona Martin and CSRD staff will be available at an open house in Sicamous to introduce the new building inspection service..
The open house takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Sicamous Community Centre, 1121 Eagle Pass Way.
