One adult male has been taken into police custody following a vehicular incident that ended in the Southview neighbourhood of Cranbrook Thursday afternoon (Sept. 9).
Police apprehended one adult male suspect, who attempted to flee from a crashed red Pontiac Grand Prix, however he was apprehended by Police Service Dog Jerry and safely taken into custody, according to a Cranbrook RCMP update.
A youth reported missing was also recovered by police and is now safe.
On Thursday afternoon, Cranbrook RCMP were made aware of a possible location of a missing youth from Ontario associated to a stolen car being operated by an adult male suspect. The vehicle, taken from Waterloo, ON, had previously evaded police in Alberta and Saskatchewan, where it had rammed one police vehicle.

Cranbrook RCMP initially attempted to immobilize the Grand Prix in the downtown area, however, it was ultimately disabled on the front lawn of a home in the Southview neighbourhood after colliding with two police vehicles and causing damage to two residential properties.
Earlier Thursday morning, Medicine Hat Police Services had issued a public plea for assistance in locating the vehicle, which failed to stop for police officers on the Trans-Canada highway outside the city.
Cranbrook RCMP will be working with other police agencies to determine the totality of criminal charges involved in the incidents.
