One airlifted after Wednesday night crash on Silver Skagit Road

Status of victim unknown as RCMP continue their investigation into the single-vehicle SUV crash

One person was airlifted to hospital after a Wednesday night crash on Silver Skagit Road 12 kilometres from Hope.

The person airlifted was one of two people involved in a single-vehicle crash. At around 9 p.m. their Toyota SUV went off the road 12 kilometres from Hope on Silver Skagit Road. The second person sustained minor injuries, Cpl. Tateyama with the Hope RCMP said.

The ambulance service was involved in the accident, as was Hope Search and Rescue. The Hope Fire Department also worked to set up a landing zone at the Hope Airpark for the incoming airlift.

Tateyama said the cause of the crash is under investigation, it is unknown if speed was a factor.
