One man is in police custody after an emergency response team (ERT) surrounded a house in the Townline Hill neighbourhood in west Abbotsford on Friday afternoon.

The ERT was serving an arrest warrant, according to media officer Const. Mike Willford. He said he did not know what the man was being arrested for and called it a “non-event.”

Heavily armed officers set up strategic positions on the street and properties adjacent to the house before the arrest was made.

Police barricades blocked off the roadway on Upper Maclure Road and Firhill Drive, where the house is located.
