A total of 120 inmates tested positive for the virus, one inmate died while 117 have recovered. That leaves only two active cases at the institution.
In order to support the Correctional Service of Canada with the outbreak in Mission, Fraser Health provided 297 COVID-19 tests as well as extensive consultation on infection prevention and control measures to both combat the current outbreak and reduce the risk of future outbreaks in the institution.
Fraser Health has also announced that the outbreak at Chartwell Cedarbrooke Retirement Residence is also at an end.
In a press release from Fraser Health it states, “with the implementation of comprehensive strategies to prevent and respond to COVID-19 in care facilities” there are no longer any COVID-19 cases at Chartwell.
