Cedar Hill golf course’s nearly half-million-dollar deficit will be up for discussion at an open house Monday (Jan. 30).
Both the golf side of the operation, as well as the clubhouse side of things, have been in the red for a number of years. Earlier this month Saanich parks and recreation announced it would be restructuring the clubhouse restaurant, leaving 20 full-time, part-time and auxiliary employees without work.
Parks and recreation director Doug Henderson said there have already been discussions surrounding golf course cost reductions, switching management models, and restructuring or increasing fees.
Monday’s open house begins at 7 p.m. in the banquet room at Cedar Hill golf course (1400 Derby Rd.).
Recommendations from the public meeting will go to council at a Feb. 7 financial planning meeting.
