The Town of Osoyoos has opened up bids for a new rapid rescue vehicle for the fire department.
The proposals are required to be in by March 31 so that the town can place the order by April 14.
The town has set a budget of $240,000 for the vehicle, which will be required to be delivered by Jan. 3, 2022.
The new vehicle will be intended to serve as a rapid rescue vehicle capable of responding to fires as well, with the equipment requirements including a 300 to 400 gallon tank for water and an additional tank for foam.

The community of Oliver recently replaced one of their old trucks, although the town ended up doing it themselves when they could not find a vehicle that didn’t require international travel, expensive modifications or expensive transportation costs.
Oliver ended up forming a truck procurement committee, and built their own water tender that was debuted in January.
