For public safety and protection, the Paddlewheel Park boat launch will remain closed due to the inability to conduct an annual inspection because of the high water level.
Regional District of North Okanagan parks manager Keith Pinkoski said an annual inspection is required to ensure structural integrity of the docks.
“Operations staff will continue to closely monitor the Paddlewheel Park boat launch and, at the earliest opportunity, conduct the necessary inspection prior to its reopening,” said Pinkoski.
RDNO will provide updates on the status of the Paddlewheel Park boat launch at www.rdno.ca.
Boaters accessing Okanagan Lake via other boat launches are reminded to keep roadways clear by parking only in designated areas.
Boaters – please make “NO WAKE” to minimize damage to the shoreline and private infrastructure from wave and wash action. Natural debris floating in the lake continues to pose a safety concern.
