Kelowna has announced its plan to close roads in Rutland on Saturday, May 18 to allow for the this year’s Rutland May Days parade and on Knox Mountain from May 17 to 20.
The Rutland May Days parade will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Family Y parking lot on Hartman Road. Rutland Road between McIntosh Road and Hartman Road will be closed, with rolling closures on until 12:30 p.m. to accommodate the parade. A detour route will be clearly indicated for motorists.
Parking will be restricted on McIntosh (Rutland Road to Dougall Road North) to accommodate the end of the parade.
Minor delays are expected and motorists must follow the directions of traffic control personnel during the road closure.

The day before, Friday, May 17, Knox Mountain Drive will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, May 20, to safely accommodate the annual Knox Mountain Hill Climb event.
Knox Mountain Park will be open to ticket holders only on May 18 and 19.
Closure of the dog park at the foot of Know Mountain Park will be in effect during the event, with limited access on Friday and Monday.
Public access to Paul’s Tomb will be available via Poplar Point Drive.
