The City of Courtenay, Town of Comox, Comox Valley Regional District and Comox Valley Arts are partnering to offer free local music at featured Comox Valley Parks on Sunday, Sept. 5.
“This awesome event is the result of local governments and Comox Valley Arts working together to build a Valley-wide party in several locations,” says Courtenay Mayor Bob Wells. “I encourage everyone to get out and enjoy our parks and great local talent as well.”
Courtenay activities take place from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m with six parks (Martin, Hawk Glen, Puntledge, Sandwick, Valley View and Maple) having music, art activities and family activity kits. Activity kits are sponsored by Canadian Tire and the Courtenay program is funded by the Government of Canada through the Celebrate Canada Grant program.
Comox has local music from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Comox Community Centre, Marina Park and Filberg Park. As well, Comox Valley Regional District will offer performances at the Merville Hall from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Bring a picnic and a blanket and come down and enjoy the great vibes at local parks.
