A pregnant passenger was airlifted to hospital following a westbound crash on Highway 1 in Abbotsford on Monday morning.
The crash took place at about 8:30 a.m. east of Whatcom Road and resulted in a vehicle ending up in the grassy median.
Westbound traffic was shut down to allow the air ambulance to land. The driver of the vehicle was taken by ground ambulance.
As of 10 a.m., one lane of westbound traffic was open between No. 3 and Whatcom roads.
There is heavy congestion in the area, in both directions.
