Special Olympians and Langley RCMP officers headed out onto the roads Tuesday for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics B.C.
A crowd of local Mounties were decked out in red T-shirts for the event, along with a couple of local medal-winning special Olympians.
Christopher Lakusta, one of the Special Olympians going on the run, thanked the law enforcement officers for their support, as well as helping to lead them out for the run itself.
“I’ve been involved in Special Olympics for four years,” Lakusta said. Last year, he won two golds and a bronze in track and field events at the provincial meet in Kamloops.
The torch run left the RCMP headquarters and wound through Murrayville.
