Penticton RCMP investigate after pedestrian struck at intersectio

Just as it was beginning to snow yesterday evening, a pedestrian was struck by a car in Penticton.

Emergency crews were called out at about 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 8 to the incident, which took place at the intersection of Main Street and Warren Avenue.

The RCMP say their investigation revealed a driver was attempting to turn left onto Warren when the light was turning yellow at the same time the pedestrian was also crossing Warren on the west side as the traffic light was turning yellow, when the driver struck the pedestrian, who was lucky to only suffer minor abrasions to her arm.

“The intersection was lit, but dark, and it was beginning to snow,” Const. James Grandy reported in a press release, adding that no charges are being considered at this time.
