A 67-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries on Tuesday night after he was struck by a car while walking across the road.
Abbotsford Police Const. Ian MacDonald said the man was not using a crosswalk at the time.
The collision took place at about 5:40 p.m. in the 33500 block of South Fraser Way.
The man was crossing from the south side of the road to the north when he was struck by a 2005 Subaru Forester SUV driven by a 73-year-old woman who was travelling west.
The man was taken to Abbotsford Regional Hospital to be treated for head trauma and upper-body injuries.
He was then airlifted to a Lower Mainland trauma centre, where he is in stable condition recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
