Pedestrian struck on Hwy 97 results in minor injuries

The weekly police report for the 100 Mile House area

The 100 Mile RCMP responded to 88 complaints and calls for service in the past week.

Search Warrant

On Jan. 6, 100 Mile RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on Katchmar Road and recovered a number of pieces of stolen property. The investigation into these offences is continuing. No charges have been recommended at this time.

Stalled truck

On Jan. 4, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a traffic incident on MacMillan Road east of 100 Mile House. The male driver of a truck hauling a trailer stalled on the roadway and was partially blocking the road. During the investigation, it was determined that the driver did not possess a valid drivers license and the trailer was not insured. The male received violation tickets for both offences.

Break and enter

On Jan 4, 100 Mile RCMP received a report of a possible break and enter at a compound in the 100 Mile Industrial Park. A male was seen leaving the area. RCMP tracked the male through the snow and was subsequently arrested in the north end of 100 Mile. During the investigation, the male was determined to be in possession of a weapon contrary to his release conditions. Charges of breach of the undertaking are being recommended to Crown against a 33-year-old male resident of 100 Mile House with a court date in February in 100 Mile House.

Pedestrian struck

On Jan. 1, 100 Mile RCMP received a report of a pedestrian being struck on Highway 97 just north of 100 Mile House. The victim had already been taken to hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle involved with the collision remained on scene and cooperated with police. No charges are being considered at this time.

CRIME STOPPERS TIPS OF THE WEEK

Sometime overnight of Jan. 5, a vehicle, which had been parked at the 100 Mile arena, was entered and a small number of items were stolen. The value of the loss is believed to be around $30.00.

Sometime overnight of Jan. 5, a storage shed at a business on Alder Avenue was broken into. The lock was cut and entry was gained but nothing was believed to be stolen.
