A male pedestrian in his 60s suffered a broken leg and a large cut to his head after he and a child were struck by a vehicle Sunday morning in Abbotsford.
The incident took place just after 10 a.m., when the pair were crossing the road in the area of Montrose and Essendene avenues and were struck by a Ford Fiesta driven by a woman.
Abbotsford Police Sgt. Judy Bird said the child was not injured.
The man was taken to hospital, and police closed the intersection while they investigated.
Bird said the circumstances of the collision are still being investigated, as police continue to talk to witnesses and collect surveillance video from the area. No further details are being released at this time.
