Quesnel Volunteer Fire Department duty officers and RCMP responded to a call out this morning at around 10:15 a.m. in the Walmart parking lot.
One pedestrian was knocked to the ground after a vehicle hit a pole in a parking stall. The impact to the pole caused a nearby shopping cart to hit a man, who had been walking in the area, confirmed officers at the scene. The vehicle contained one driver and one passenger.
The man was kept on the ground but was sitting up and speaking to officers and witnesses at the scene. An ambulance arrived around 10 minutes after the first responders to transport the pedestrian to hospital.
Walmart staff at the scene had no comment on the incident.
