Construction on Penticton’s lake-to-lake bike route has gotten off to a quick start.
After beginning work on the bike lane May 14, the city of Penticton is advising residents and businesses that construction is ahead of schedule and will be shifting locations earlier than planned.
Work will soon be moving to the 400 to 600 blocks of Martin Street.
The majority of work will take place at the intersections.
“Crews will continue to ensure disruptions are minimized over the coming weeks. The city thanks everyone for their continued patience as this project moves ahead,” the city said in a news release Thursday (June 3).
The city has also purchased 30 new bike racks that will be installed between the library and Lakeshore Drive.
The city says they plan to work with property owners and businesses to identify the best places to locate the racks.
