The Penticton Indian Band (PIB) is down to just five active cases of COVID-19, as the band prepares for their second vaccination clinic.
In a community notice for May 26, the band’s chief and council confirmed the number of cases had dropped to just five, after seeing 18 active cases on May 19.
The drop in cases has given the PIB’s health team time to prepare a second COVID-19 vaccination clinic.
For those who have not yet had their first vaccine dose, please contact PIB Health (250) 493-7799 and leave your name and contact number for our team to follow up.

The PIB will also be administering Pfizer vaccine doses for those who are between the ages of 12 and 17.

For those who are waiting for the second vaccine dose, the PIB’s health teams are currently calling to schedule appointments between May 31 and June 2.
The notice also once again reiterated the band’s call to members to take all the necessary precautions to protect themselves and others.
“If you have been notified by PIB Health or an Interior Health team member that you need to self-isolate or quarantine due to direct exposure or tested positive, we need your full cooperation and please reach out for support in doing so,” reads the notice.
