Brian William Cooper appeared in provincial court Wednesday morning in Penticton for an undertaking to appear, relating to eight charges alleged to have occurred around May 22, 2018.
The charges include break and enter with intent, robbery with a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, using a firearm while committing an indictable offence, unlawful possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm, pointing a firearm, careless use of a firearm and possession of a firearm while prohibited.
Defence attorney Michael Patterson, acting as an agent for Cooper’s counsel Jordan Watt, was granted a two-week adjournment on the file after claiming the defence was missing some disclosures.
Cooper’s arraignment hearing is now scheduled to take place on Oct. 16 at 9 a.m.

In May 2108 the Western News reported that police had investigated shots fired at what they described at the time as a “problem property,” where they found a 30-year-old man suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. They said the man was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital.
Another man who reportedly witnessed the incident told the Western News he had called 911 after hearing several “pops” and that he saw the RCMP converging on the scene with guns drawn.
He also reported seeing a man being treated for an injured leg that was badly bleeding and police arresting several people.
The victim reportedly told the witness that he had been shot.
Police remained on the scene until early the next morning.
