A unique opportunity to purchase a wide variety “unearthed treasures” from inside the Okanagan School of the Arts Shatford Centre location will take place Saturday, July 18 in Penticton.
The arts school is hosting a yard sale and fundraiser on the front lawn of the Shatford Centre on July 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The arts school is soon to be looking for a new host building, as their lease at the Shatford Centre will not be extended. The school has recently been granted a two-month extension until Aug. 30 to vacate the premises.

Established in 1960, the Okanagan School of the Arts is one of the longest-running schools of its kind in Canada. The school offers a variety of performing and visual arts courses and programs for students of all ages and stages of development.
School directors said they have been “unearthing the treasures found hidden in the many corners of the Shatford,” as they prepare to vacate the building that has been home to the school for close to a decade.
Money raised at the yardsale will help to secure the school’s future.
“As we prepare to vacate the Shatford Centre, we’re looking for ways to continue to offer unique arts programming,” said executive director Kim Palmer. “Every dollar we raise will help us cover our moving costs, so we can focus on bringing creativity and connection to the community.”
Physical distancing will be practiced and organizers ask that customers remain patient and follow COVID-19 guidelines.
Cash, credit, and debit will be accepted.
