Insects and pets kept police busy during the past week.
Although details were limited, Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said officers were dispatched to a Montreal Street residence after a 911 call was received about a dog stuck in a chimney.
Upon attending the officer found intoxicated adults who had reportedly made numerous attempts to free the dog which eventually got out unharmed.
In another matter, a dog and cat that were living in a small car with their owner on Parkview Street, were put into the care of the local SPCA.
According to Wrigglesworth police received about a dozen calls about the animals in recent weeks and when they attended this time it was determined the dog required veterinary care.
The owner of the blue Hyundai Accent parked on Parkview Street was not there when police arrived and a tow company was able to gain access to the vehicle without breaking the window.
There was a note on the vehicle saying the dog had water however the bowls were empty at the time.
The matter has been turned over to the SPCA to investigate.
The third incident related to the reported theft of 20 bee hives from an Okanagan Falls orchard where the bees were used to pollinate the trees.
The large hives which required a forklift to move were valued at about $250 and were part of a collection of 120 hives on the property.
The wooden coverings surrounding the hives were stamped MCW.
Summerland RCMP received a report last week, on May 2, of stolen hives.
