Farmer by day, officer by night, the hard-looking mustachioed man in this century-old photograph was Abbotsford’s first police constable.
The Abbotsford Police Department’s archive photo from 1905 is of Thomas Henry Lehman of the Matsqui Police force.
Lehman was a farmer by trade but was on-call around the clock for which he received $58 a day, adjusted for inflation.
