The official opening of the new artificial turf field at Mission Sports Park took place today, Saturday Sept. 23.
Members of council and the public as well as several sports teams were on hand for the event.
The new field has white soft plastic pellets within the artificial turf rather than the black rubber pellets which generate more heat.
The white pellet field is also FIFA approved.
