Abbotsford’s Jubilee Park was the gathering point on Friday afternoon for dozens who aimed to march in solidarity with the Wet’suwet’en.
People met at the park then marched around Downtown Abbotsford with signs supporting the Wet’suwet’en and also calling out the RCMP for their mistreatment of First Nation people.
The group then situated itself on West Railway Street and Essendene Avenue in front of the large tree as they sang songs and made themselves aware to drivers and pedestrians.
Organizers stated that they do not plan on causing any traffic disruptions or rail disruptions, and no further demonstrations are planned for Abbotsford in the immediate future.
