Anyone planning to drive the Fraser Canyon Thursday will need to take a different route, as Highway 1 will be closed in both directions overnight.
In a tweet Monday, Emil Anderson Construction stated that the highway will be closed at Spuzzum Bridge from Thursday, Oct. 22 on 10 p.m. to Friday, Oct. 23 at 6 a.m. The highway will close in both direction to allow bridge maintenance work.
Drive BC stated the closure will be from Spuzzum Creek Rd. to Anderson River Mainline, circa 18 kilometres north of Yale.
Only emergency vehicles will be allowed through.
