Comox plant thief
On Sept. 10, the Comox Valley RCMP received several calls reporting stolen plants from Comox. Several plants were stolen from the 1700-block of Beaufort Avenue, and from the 400-block of Church Street. The plants include rhododendrons and shrubs. A witness reported seeing a couple of suspects on Port Augusta Street at approximately 4:45 a.m. The suspects were described as two males, average build associated to a pickup truck with no canopy. Nighttime skulking
At 1:55 a.m. on Sept. 5, the Comox Valley RCMP received a call reporting a suspicious man wandering into yards and looking inside vehicles. Police went to the 1900-block of Tull Avenue in Courtenay and located the suspicious man inside a vehicle. The man was arrested for mischief and trespassing at night. The man was released later in the day with an upcoming court date. (2018-12633)
Prohibited driver
On Sept. 9 at approximately 10:20 p.m. a motorcycle with no lights caught the attention of a patrolling police officer on Cliffe Avenue in Courtenay. The officer conducted a traffic stop with the motorcycle and found that the driver is prohibited from driving. The driver has an upcoming court date. (2018-12900)
Window smashed
On Sept. 5, the Comox Valley RCMP received a report that the rear window of a vehicle had been smashed sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. The vehicle was parked on the 800-block of Monarch Drive in Courtenay. (2018-12653)
Destructive driving
On Sept. 8, just after noon, a man driving a brown car drove up onto the median at Ryan Road and the Island Highway. The man continued along the median and drove over a traffic sign. He was last seen pulling into the Superstore parking lot. Investigators are being assisted by witnesses and the investigation is continuing. (2018-12830)
