Police appeal to public, one year after missing man’s burned out car found near Spences Bridge

Luke Neville, 48, went missing Oct. 9 last year in what police are calling a 'suspicious disappearance'

Luke Neville vanished just over a year ago from the Spences Bridge area, his burned-out van found on a remote forest service road, now police are appealing for help in solving the ‘suspicious disappearance.’

Luke Neville, described by police as a 48-year-old Caucasian male with short grey hair and brown eyes, disappeared on Oct. 9, 2017. He was last seen in the Spences Bridge area that afternoon, driving a white 2003 Ford E250 van.

He was reported missing to the Lytton RCMP on Oct. 10. The van he was driving was subsequently located, burned out, along the Sackum Forest Service Road 20 kilometres away from the community of Spences Bridge.

“Investigators with the RCMP Southeast District Major Crime continue to investigate Mr. Neville’s disappearance. As is often the case, an individuals’ circumstances can change with time, which might make it easier for a person or persons with information about Luke Neville’s disappearance to now come forward,” Cpl Dan Moskaluk stated in an Oct. 10 RCMP news release.

Police are asking anyone with information about Neville’s disappearance to contact the Southeast District Major Crime Unit at 1-877-987-8477 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
