Police at Maple Ridge condo after calls about gunshots

No reports of injuries at incident on 224th Street Wednesday night

RCMP surrounded a condo building on 224th Street near 122nd Avenue, Wednesday night after reports of gunshots.

The incident happened at about 7:15 p.m. After about 40 minutes, paramedic units were cancelled, although over a dozen police cruisers remained on scene.

Ridge Meadows RCMP Const. Julie Klaussner said Thursday that they responded to a report of an alleged careless use of a firearm, but added the investigation is in its early stages.

Police said they might release more details later.
