POLICE BEAT: Woman found in stolen vehicle

Car reported stolen on Feb. 13; Campbell River RCMP Victim Services need volunteers

A 23-year-old woman is facing charges after being found in a stolen vehicle.

Campbell River RCMP were called on Feb. 13, at 12:15 a.m., regarding the theft of a Mercury from the 500 block of Island Hwy.

Around 1:20 a.m., police pulled over the same vehicle near the intersection of 16th Ave. and Tamarac St. The female driver was taken into custody and is facing charges of theft and driving while prohibited.

Volunteers needed

RCMP Victim Services Unit is looking for volunteers.

Applicants must be at least 19 years old and will be required to undergo an enhanced security screening process.  Applications can be obtained at the front counter of the local RCMP detachment or through the Volunteer Centre at city hall.
