A man who police believe is actively evading arrest is wanted on an outstanding charge of assault from last summer.

Police allege that on the evening in question last August, Lyndon Hodgins, 46, of Nanaimo, approached a man and woman as they walked along a road in central Nanaimo and, without provocation, reportedly kicked the female, pushed the man into a ditch and then proceeded to kick and punch him repeatedly. The victims, who were known to Hodgins, called police. Both victims declined medical treatment.

Hodgins is Caucasian, 6-foot-1, 190 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information on Hodgins’s whereabouts is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, and quote file No. 2020-29469.
