Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 193 calls for service from May 25-29.
Here are some of the calls:
- A man was reported as intoxicated and passed out on Davis Avenue. Police spoke to the man who was sober and angry about being woken up from his nap.
- A man was observed urinating in public on Lakelse Avenue. Police made patrols.
- Police received intelligence information.
- A boater was reported as driving while intoxicated. Police attended the area but did not locate the man.
- Police received a report of drugs discovered in a residence. The drugs were seized for destruction.
- A breach of no-consume alcohol conditions was reported to police. Unsubstantiated.
- A domestic assault was reported. A man was arrested.
- A man was reported as assaulting a woman near Lakelse Avenue. Under investigation.
- A woman located a small white Chihuaha running into traffic near Christy Park. She brought the dog to the Terrace Detachment. Officers took the dog to the Terrace Animal Shelter.
- A transport truck was stuck on the Terrace side of the Old Bridge. Police attended and spoke to the driver, who had been led onto the bridge by his GPS, only to realize it was too late to turn back. Police blocked traffic so the transport could back up.
- Police were called to a disturbance involving a knife on Lazelle Avenue. Officers attended. A woman was arrested and lodged in cells to sober up safely.
- Police received a report of a man in a vehicle who had possibly overdosed. Officers attended. The man had not overdosed, but was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
- A break and entered occurred at a business on Kalum Street. Some items were taken.
- A found wallet was turned into the detachment. Police returned it to its owner.
- A dog was reported inside a hot vehicle. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
- Another dog was reported inside a hot vehicle in a parking lot on Hwy 16. Police attended and observed the dog which appeared in distress. The vehicle’s owner was contacted and a discussion about responsible pet ownership was had.
- A man was reported as intoxicated and being aggressive. Police located the man and arrested him for Cause a Disturbance, then lodged him in cells to sober up safely.
- Police responded to a report of a man threatening people with a knife and bear spray. A man was arrested. Under investigation.
- A hysterical woman called 911. A man was arrested for assault. Under investigation.
- Police received a report of a fight involving a knife near Lakelse Avenue and Emerson Street. Unsubstantiated.
- A vehicle stop on Hwy 16 resulted in a woman failing a roadside breath test for alcohol. She received a 90-driving prohibition, 30-day vehicle impound for impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and a violation ticket for having no licence.
- A domestic assault was reported to police. A man was arrested. Under investigation.
- Police were called to a report of a violent suicidal person. The person was assaultive toward police. The person was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital.
- Police received a report of two dogs in a hot vehicle on Lakelse Avenue. Officers attended and observed the dogs to be well cared for, with windows open and water provided.
- A traffic stop on Old Lakelse Lake Avenue resulted in a man failing a roadside breath test. He received a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound for impaired driving.
- Police attended a verbal domestic and mischief file. Under investigation.
- A blue plastic tub with flies all over it was reported on Loen Avenue. Police searched the tub, which contained rotten fish, sausage, and maggots.
- A man was reported as holding a large sign promoting ISIS and quoting the bible. Police spoke to the man, who stated he was not advocating ISIS, but love, unity and forgiveness for everyone, including those who inflict harm. No criminal offence.
- A found wallet was turned into police. Officers located and returned the wallet to its owner.
- A group of people were reported to be consuming alcohol at Emerson and Lakelse Avenue. Police attended. No liquor observed.
- Police responded to an assault file on Greig Avenue. The victim was uncooperative.
- A sexual assault was reported to police. Under investigation.
- Police on patrol observed an intoxicated woman yelling and shouting at a man. A man reported the woman kicked him. Officers arrested the woman for assault and Cause a Disturbance. She was combative with police.
- A youth was reported missing. She was later located.
- Police assisted a bailiff in keeping the peace. A man present assaulted a police officer and was arrested. He was later released and spoken with.
- A domestic disturbance was reported. Police attended. Although no assault occurred, a woman was found to be breaching her no-contact conditions and was subsequently arrested.
- A suspicious man was described as a wearing a mask and carrying a backpack on Eby Street near Lazelle Avenue. Police located the man and spoke to him. He was completing military training.
- An intoxicated woman was screaming. She was arrested for Causing a Disturbance and lodged in cells to sober up safely.
- A domestic assault was reported. A man was arrested.
- Items were stolen from an open vehicle window on Lazelle Avenue.
