The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has identified the victim in a “suspicious” death in a Surrey home.
Adrian Golofit, 31, was found dead in his home in the 19300-block of 66th Avenue by a friend Friday evening (Feb. 12), said Sergeant Frank Jang, of IHIT.
Jang said when officers arrived, they “did a quick survey of the home, and our victim had injuries that were consistent with homicide.”

However, Jang said he couldn’t disclose the cause of death.
“We’re not going to comment on the injuries or how Adrian was killed.”
He said it “verges on … holdback evidence,” which he said is “information that the perpetrators would know. It’s very sensitive information to the investigation and we cannot let that be made public at this time because that could obviously taint potential witness statements later on.
“It is definitely a homicide. We can say that without a doubt.”
Jang said investigators dont yet know if Golofit’s death was targeted.
Asked if there was evidence of any forced entry into the home, Jang said he wasn’t “going to get into the specifics of that.”
Jang said Golofit lived in a coach house above a detached garage in a lane just north of 66th Avenue.
Police had the lane taped off between 193B and 194 streets, and Jang added police will be on scene most likely throughout the rest of the weekend.

Golofit, according to Jang, was not known to police. He added Golofit was not associated to any gangs or gang conflicts.
“He has very, very minimal police records.”
The 31-year-old last contacted a friend around 8 a.m. on Thursday (Feb. 11), Jang said.
“There’s that window where his activities are unaccounted for. He might have still been home. He may have been killed shortly after that last communication or even shortly before he was found dead.”
