Nanaimo RCMP are looking for the owner of dozens of gold and silver rings believed to have been stolen.

The rings were recovered more than a month ago during an investigation. On Nov. 8, a woman attempted to sell the rings at a jewelry store.

“The employee was suspicious of the transaction because of the quantity and lack of personal inscriptions or identifying marks,” noted an RCMP press release. “The woman was unable to provide a coherent story as to the origins of the rings … She claimed the rings were given in exchange for money she was owed.”

The jewelry was seized, but has not yet been linked to any report of theft, police say.
