Police received 40 calls for assistance from December 11 to December 17 Staff Sargent Ryan Currie said on Tuesday morning.

December 11

• Police began an investigation into a hit and run on Canyon Street. No one was injured.

• Police assisted in keeping the peace while an ex-partner removed belongings.

December 12

• Police responded to a report of an abduction and assault. The investigation is on-going.

• Police responded to a breach of no contact order.

December 13

• Police responded to a report of a possible impaired driver in Kitchener. Police patrols were negative.

• Police responded to a report of a break and enter to a property in Wynndel.

• Police received numerous reports of mail thefts in Creston and Lister. Suspects have been identified.

• Police investigated a suspicious person in Yahk.

• Police responded to report of a theft from a vehicle on Canyon Street.

December 14

• Police responded to a report of harassment between ex-partners.

• Police responded to a breach of a no-contact order.

December 15

• Police responded to a report of shots heard in Erickson.

December 16

• Police investigated the taking of a vehicle without the consent of the owner.

December 17

• Police responded to a report of possible drug dealing at a residence.

• Police assisted Kingsgate CBSA and Taber RCMP with the arrest of an offender with active warrants.

• Police attended a domestic argument in Erickson.

The Creston RCMP continues to investigate the report of an abduction and sexual assault of a local female. The extensive investigation includes Cranbrook RCMP, RCMP Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Section, and numerous other RCMP support sections in District Headquarters in Kelowna and Division Headquarters in Surrey. Investigations of this nature rely heavily on witness accounts and public information in order to build enough evidence to identify and locate a suspect.
