Police investigate possible stabbing

The Terrace RCMP responded to approximately 224 calls from Monday Nov. 19, to midnight Nov. 25. Below are some highlights from the calls for service received Friday to midnight Sunday.

Impaired driving

A report of a possibly impaired driver led to police removing an intoxicated man from the roadway Friday night. Around 8 p.m. Nov. 23, police received a report involving a grey Chrysler sedan near Medeek Avenue. Police located and stopped the vehicle on Graham Avenue. After speaking to the driver, roadside breath tests were administered, registering fails. The driver received a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impound under the Motor Vehicle Act.

Domestic disturbances

Police received two reports of domestic disturbances over the weekend. On Saturday around 7 p.m., police were called to an assault file. A woman was arrested and released on a Promise to Appear with conditions. Around 10 p.m. that same night, police attended a verbal domestic and spoke to those present.

Possible stabbing

Police received a report of a possible stabbing on Larch Avenue. Around 8:15 p.m. on Nov. 24, someone called police to report a woman came to their door with blood on her and said someone had been stabbed. Police searched the area, but did not locate anyone or any signs of a stabbing.

Snowmobile accident

A man was airlifted from a mountain following a snowmobile accident Sunday. On Nov. 25, 2018 around 12:25 p.m., Terrace RCMP received a call to assist ambulance on Trapper Mountain, just outside Terrace. Search and Rescue attended and used its helicopter to assist in the rescue. A man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Disturbances

Approximately 14 people spent time calming down or sobering up at the Terrace RCMP detachment this the weekend. From Friday to Sunday Nov. 25, police responded to approximately 31 disturbance related calls, including mischief, liquor, and Cause a Disturbance files. Of those arrested, four were females and 10 were men.
